Remembering Dad I

It's been almost 16 years since dad passed away. And for the first time in my life..I miss my dad. I never shed a tear during his wake back then. You can say that we weren't close but we had a lot of good  memories together. I remember when I was about 4 to 6 years old, he would take me to parks, carnivals, and other amusement centers. Just the two of us. Bonding kumbaga. Madalas kami nuon sa Cubao.

Dad is very strict maybe due to his military background and conventional upbringing, but I admire his thoughfulness and sweetness. During my adolescent years, we often argue at home with regards to my choice of clothing, accesories, hairstyle and music. But still, we would buy  records together nonetheless. I remember he would even say "O, pakinggan nga natin ung binili mo..". Of course like the obedient son that I am, I would play the newly-bought record but I won't let him hear the heavy ones. hehe.

R.I.P. sir! (salutes)
